About Nonno Alby's Brick-oven Pizza
Nonno Albyโs is a Calabrese trattoria serving wood-fired artisan pizzas, garden fresh salads, gourmet burgers, oven roasted wings and Italian desserts. Rotating craft beers and wine are always on tap. Weโre located in the heart of West Reading on the corner of 7th and Penn Avenues.
One of the many things that makes Nonno Albyโs special is our pizza bar. Our customers are given the opportunity to watch our pizza chefs hand-craft each and every pizza from scratch as it bakes in our high-temp, wood-burning oven imported from Italy.
Weโre named Best Spot for Pizza and takeout by voters of Berks County Living Magazineโs Best of Berks awards. Operating since 2013.

My friend and i came here because we were visiting reading for the first time and were craving pizza. The staff was kind enough to let us order pizzas with two flavors (as long as both were with sauce or without sauce) and we were excited to try the many flavors they had! My friend was vegetarian so all the pizzas we ordered were vegetarian. My favorite was the primavera because there were a lot of toppings that gave the pizza a delicious crunch and had it was a mouthful of taste. The tre colori was my friend's favorite and the pesto sauce was a nice touch that paired with the cheese. Unfortunately, our 2nd pizza was one we did not like as much. We wanted to be more adventurous and ordered the tartufata (black truffle) and quattro formagi pizza. But without the sauce, there was no acidic tomato sauce to balance out the flavor which made the black truffle/blue cheese flavors stand out very strongly. The tartufata is still a good choice for those that love truffle oil but it was just a bit too heavy and oily for my friend and i. We had the same issue with quattro formagi but i think the issue was more that we realized we just dont like blue cheese. Overall, this was a good experienc

We had a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, fresh and flavorful, and everything came out quickly. What really made our visit stand out was our waitress, Serenity. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed with a smile. Her excellent customer service made our meal even more enjoyable. We'll definitely be back and hope to have Serenity as our server again!

I ordered takeout and was very disappointed with my meal. Since it was takeout, I can't comment on the atmosphere or the service. I will say that my order was prepared within the estimated time provided by the online ordering system. I ordered a side of meatballs, a half salad, and a half order of wings cooked well-done. The salad was fine, but the meatballs were awful. The sauce was even worse, and I honestly found myself questioning what kind of meat was used. My husband ordered a meatball sub from Wawa down the street, and I swear the meatballs were identicalโit genuinely tasted like they came from the same pre-made supplier. As for the wings, I specifically ordered them well-done because I prefer them crispy. Since that was an option on the menu, I assumed they would have some crispness. Instead, they were soft and rubbery, which is a texture I simply can't eat. We no longer live in the area, so I was really looking forward to enjoying food from a local hometown Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, the meal was a huge disappointment and didn't come close to the quality I was expecting.

Gluten free foccacia and pizza are amazing! As gluten free you miss many things, pizza being top of my list! I already love Nonno,'s and now the love affair grows and grows! GO! Get the pizza!! Mom and I had pizza, caesar and eggplant killed it!!

Every time I come here the food and service are amazing! The staff is so nice!! I can not eat gluten or dairy so I get the Nonno Abby pizza with gluten free crust and shaved parm (I can have aged cheese). I watched the pizza being made and it was in and out of the oven 3 times! Getting GF bread toasty is tricky. It was beyond amazing!!! Highly recommend! Pic of leftovers:)
